Crooked Crowns

While walking on campus it is very easy to see the effort that we as women put on the clothes that we wear, the shoes that we march around in and even the way we decide to wear our hair each day. But who are doing it for ?

When you start fresh each morning, why do you choose to wear your hair that way ? Why do you decide that your lips should be a different color for this particular outfit? Are your high heels or lace ups being put on for comfort and personal choice or for the opinion of others ?

I know some of my ladies are already looking at their screens and proclaiming as Beyonce has that it is for "Me, Myself and I" - but this post is for those ladies whose crowns are crooked and need to be re-polished a bit.

First of all, let me remind you in case no one has today ... YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL and no matter how on fleek your makeup is, no matter how laid you can get your hair - you are YOU, and that alone is something no one else can take away.

Ladies, my message today is one that even though you may hear it preached time and time again, some of you still don't understand. Be the beautiful, fierce, natural, exquisite, rare and unique woman God has destined for you to be. I say this because, trying to fit a mold requires so much more of your energy than being who you truly are. I charge you to join me with a #stayTRUEselfie so that the girls in younger generations can learn to be themselves and learn to wear their crowns with the glory they should have on a daily basis. Remain yourself regardless of where you are or whom you may be around. At the end of this lifetime, you are not going to be judged on who you tried to be but rather, who you became with the time the Lord has given you !

#beautiful by Mariah Carey ft. Miguel

"The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years." - Audrey Hepburn
